Springs State Park in Thermopolis, Wyoming has the unique distinction
of being both the oldest and the newest hotel in the area. Built in
1918, the Plaza is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places
and has long been considered an early 20th Century treasure.
During its $2 million renovation in 1999, great care was
given to preserve the ambiance of the early century spirit while providing
today's most comfortable appointments. "The Hotel is an important
part of the preservation of the Park's history. The attention to detail
is wonderful: the preservation and quality of work is outstanding. Guests
will be pleasantly surprised" said Joe Bonds, Concession and Revenue
Manager for the Wyoming State Parks.
is the last of 12 such hotel/spa resorts that once graced Hot Springs
State Park. Reopened under the flag of Quality Inn and Suites, there
are eight fireplace suites, ten luxury suites, and 18 deluxe accommodations.
All rooms and suites are furnished with unique log pole beds, tables,
and chairs, and western art.
Guests can enjoy a relaxing dip in the courtyard
splash pool or a soothing soak in the legendary Hot Springs water, which
is piped directly from its source to the Plaza's private mineral spa
